The Emoji Movie took home four awards, including Worst Picture and Worst Screenplay, at this year’s Razzies. The film, which has a 9 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes, also snagged hardware for Worst Screen Combo and Worst Director (Anthony “Tony” Leondis). "Leading this year’s list of movie-misfires is the emoticon-based, talking poop opus," The Razzies said about The Emoji Movie in a statement obtained by The Guardian. The organization says the film came during a time when "Hollywood’s recycled trash heap attained an all-time high” and saw a “toxic-level lack of originality."

Worst Actor and Actress went to Tom Cruise in The Mummy and Tyler Perry for his portrayal of Madea in Boo 2! A Madea Halloween. The Supporting Actor and Actress categories were won by Mel Gibson in Daddy’s Home 2 and Kim Basinger in Fifty Shades Darker, which was also named Worst Remake, Rip-off or Sequel. There's also the Rotten Tomatoes Award which goes to the Razzie nominee so bad you loved it. That honor went to Baywatch, beating out Transformers: The Last Knight, The MummyFifty Shades Darker, and The Emoji Movie.

As is the tradition with The Razzies, the winners were announced the day before the Oscars. The organization claims that winners are determined by over 1,000 voting members in 27 countries and from every state in the U.S., except for Montana.
