Idris Elba is tying the knot with his girlfriend, Sabrina Dhowre.
Elba reportedly proposed to Dhowre at the screening for his feature film directorial debut, Yardie, at Rio Cinema in Dalson, London. The independent movie house confirmed the happy occasion on Twitter with a selfie of Elba on Saturday morning (Feb 10).
Another movie-goer, David Marsden, blessed us with the video as well that shows Elba getting down on one knee as Dhowre looks surprised and flustered. "When you turn up to the #Yardie screening with @sainoutalent clients @adnanmust & @akin.gazi and the director @idriselba steals the show with a #marriageproposal" read his caption. He also hashtagged, #congratulations, #love and #marriage.
The newly engaged couple started dating last year while Elba was filming The Mountain Between Us in Dhowre's home country, Canada, where she won 2014's Miss Vancouver. But life moves fast when you're in love.
This will also be the third time that Elba has joined in holy matrimony. He was married to Hanne 'Kim' Norgaard in 1999 until they divorced in 2003 and then spontaneously married Sonya Nicole Hamlin in 2006 for four months. Elba also has two children, a 15-year-old daughter, Isan, with Norgaad and a three-year-old son, Winston, with his ex-girlfriend Naiyana Garth.
Although just last year, Elba told Essence Magazine that he likely wouldn't get married again, it seems that he's ready to give it one more try with the beauty queen.
