PROMO: Could You Bravely Face the Evil that is Annabelle? Lil Twist Isn’t So Sure

Evil wants to play. Lil Twist is in for a surprise.

You never know what you’ll find when you’re perusing a shop that specializes in “oddities”, “rarities” and “peculiarities”. Sure, you may luck out and come across some rare antique that’s worth a fortune. Or you may come across something far more sinister—like, say, a doll that’s possessed by a very powerful evil.

Or, as you probably know her: Annabelle.

To celebrate the upcoming release of Annabelle: Creation, Complex, Collider and Bloody Disgusting recently teamed up on a hidden camera prank at Bearded Lady Vintage & Oddities in LA’s San Fernando Valley. Unassuming guests were lured into the shop using a variety of tactics, and then were left alone in a room where a number of “oddities” lined shelves along the walls. Strategically positioned on one shelf was a lifelike recreation of the Annabelle doll, expertly fabricated by Mark S. Anthony of the Scary Closet Puppeteer. This customized Annabelle was tricked out with the ability to move her head and eyes, as well as make some even spookier gestures. Once guests were alone in the room,  Annabelle was brought to life, invoking some pretty hilarious and terrified reactions.

One such special guest was none other than Lil Twist, who we lured to the shop with the expectation of an interview. In reality, he was in for a whole lot more than that. To see how Twist fared in the face of such a sinister evil—a.k.a. a doll—check out the video above. And for more on Annabelle: Creation, which hits theaters August 11th, be sure to hit up the film’s Facebook page and Twitter feed.
