The lead female role in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming western The Hateful Eight will be played by Jennifer Jason Leigh, the Hollywood Reporter reports.
Leigh will play Daisy Domergue aka "The Prisoner" in the movie, which will also star Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Tim Roth and Michael Madsen.
The Reporter says that Tarantino looked at several actresses for the role (there was even talk that Jennifer Lawrence might get it), but is going with Leigh, who in the past few years in The Spectacular Now, Kill Your Darlings and Nancy's crazy-ass sister Jill in the Showtime series Weeds.
This still leaves us with a much more pressing question, though. Who is going to play the character nicknamed "The Cow Puncher?" And why is he nicknamed "The Cow Puncher?" I must know.
Hateful Eight will shoot in Colorado early next year and should come out in the fall of 2015.
