During an interview with The Guardian, Ice Cube revealed that he wants his son, O'Shea Jackson Jr., to play him in an upcoming N.W.A. biopic. "I've been trying to get that pushed along," he said. "Just wanna make sure that he's the best man for the job."

The idea of a N.W.A. biopic has been tossed around Hollywood for some time.Indiewire reports that back in December, Universal Pictures hired relative unknown, Jonathan Herman, to write the a draft biopic that F. Gary Gray (Be Cool, Law Abiding Citizen) will direct.

In the aforementioned Guardian interview Ice Cube parses a few details about what we can expect of the movie that will prospectively be shot in April.

"We're going for a dramatic story that encompasses hip-hop, dope-dealing, Reaganomics, AIDS, LAPD, rap feuds, FBI, PMRC, the Parental Advisory stickers on the records ... all of it," he added.
