We already know that Quentin Tarantino is finished with the script for his next film, The Hateful Eight, but who's going to star? Though there's been no confirmation—the project is still in the very early stages—it's been rumored that the director was eyeing Christoph Waltz and Bruce Dern for lead roles...and now it looks like that might be true. According to Bruce Dern himself, he has been in touch with Tarantino about the film, but, as he told EW, nothing is official just yet.

"We had a conversation," Dern said in reference to the film. "I mean, he hasn’t hired me yet or anything. But we had a conversation about the material, yes we did."

Hey, a conversation is something! And, considering Dern was briefly in Tarantino's 2012 film Django Unchained, it could be possible he's looking to work with Tarantino again. We can dream.

As previously reported, The Hateful Eight is said to be a Western that is a nod to The Magnificent Seven (hence the title), but no other plot details are available at the moment.
