Ever since FX revamped its image and debuted as a grittier network led by The Shield, its testosterone-fueled reputation has preceded it. That same rep is further qualified by the debut of Justified, a crime drama starring Timothy Olymphant, which airs its third season premiere tonight. What makes these sausage fest series bearable? Despite low ratings, Laura Allen’s portrayal of the live-in girlfriend of a criminal-turned-private investigator did not go unnoticed. The show was canceled after just one season, but Allen’s career is just getting started. Still, we can’t help but feel bitter that we couldn't see her in future seasons of the unconventional drama series.

She starred as America’s favorite identity thief, the crafty Di Di Malloy, in this dark comedy. It's impossible to not find her character charming after you see how badass her swindle game is.

The fact that her character Kristen Newman's brother, Ryan (Elijah Wood), gets more stressed out by her visits than by the fact he can talk to a dog is very telling. However, Brown being able to play a high-strung annoying sister and still win our hearts says something, too.

While her sexually unfulfilled character Julia McNamara was married to Sean, she harbored feelings for his partner Christian. Her many trysts included a bisexual surgeon, a dwarf nanny, a woman from New York, and finally, a rich older gentleman. Even if she wasn't so attractive, her sexual curiosity alone would qualify her for this list.

She's so beautiful as Sheila Keefe that you could almost forget how big of a basketcase she was. She was needy and had the mouth of a trucker, but you could still fall for her every time. Actually, it’s kind of fitting that the show’s protagonist, troubled veteran firefighter Tommy Devin fell for someone who likes to walk the line between brilliant and crazy.

We’ll say we’re in love with her, but we wouldn’t even get close to her Ava on the now-canceled Lights Out. Her dad, Patrick “Lights” Leary was a former heavyweight champion boxer who found it necessary to take down everyone in the way of his comeback.

On the gritty cop drama, she plays the attractive, empowered young police officer, Tina Hanlon. Her game plans often involve exploiting her sexuality to take down criminals, like the slavery ring for which she posed as a sexy prostitute. At one point, she was even involved in a nude photo scandal of her undressing in the locker room. The show may not exactly help the feminist movement, but we can’t argue with the effectiveness of her tactics.

She brings the ex-wife of eccentric US Marshall, Raylan Givens, to life. Her character Winona is only mentioned in passing in the books the show is based on, but Zea encouraged the writers to create a story for her. Even in the early days of season one, the show's star Timothy Olyphant told the producer, “That girl is so good that if you don’t write for her, you’re a moron.”

She plays every parent’s worst nightmare. The beautiful and innocent looking Lyla is a porn star who marries into the motorcycle gang, Sons of Anarchy. Not only can we be thankful to the show for giving us a fantasy to escape into once a week, but we can’t help but think her character had a part in encouraging Zoli to pose for Playboy.
