If you ask Big Zuu, he'll probably tell you he's one of the best and that is the "Blatant Truth". With the video for the song released on the same day as his Hold Dat EP, that is the statement he's trying to prove. The West London MC has been ever present in the grime scene since he first came through a few years ago — whether it be through solo material, guest spots or hosting The Joints Show on Radar Radio, however the four-track project goes a long way to showcasing his versatility as an artist. Production is handled by heavyweights such as Tre Mission, Nyge, Lolingo, JG, and Merky Ace (as Splurt Diablo), and every track displays a different part of Big Zuu's artistry.
For example, "Blatant Truth" (which has already been given a video, above) serves as a reflective opener on where he stands in his career so far and where he intends to go, which is followed by the reload-worthy title track, "Hold Dat". Next up is "Playing Games", with the only feature on the EP, Merky Ace, in a grime-rap crossover, before ending with "Swag On Riddims", highlighting his lyrical ability as he sprays straight fire, ending the project leaving you in no doubt that Big Zuu is one of the best.
