Hailing from Arkansas, '80s-inspired dream-pop duo Joan have been making some serious waves in 2017. The success of their first two singles, "Take Me On" and "Love Somebody Like You", rightly earned them supporting slots with Alice Merton and COIN. Comprised of Alan Thomas and Steven Rutherford, the pair are back with their third single "Tokyo", an airy, easy-going track with the synth-pop vibe that has made them so popular, along with lyrics that will have your head bopping if not making you want to hit the dancefloor.

Speaking to Complex over email, they said: "'Tokyo' is about that moment when you're falling for someone, but your time is running out — overtaken by spontaneous, crazy love, you end up saying: 'Let's just run away together.'"
