In the past two years, Jay Rock has been mum on details for his sophomore album, which we named one of the most anticipated albums of 2014. This doesn’t mean the elder TDE member has been sitting on the sidelines. He’s actually produced some of the slickest guest verses, besting his peers on songs by Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Isaiah Rashad and YG. Still, his diehard fans want to know when Rock will be putting out his follow-up to his 2011 debut Follow Me Home.

Although TDE CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith promised a label takeover in 2013, we’re actually starting to see the second phase of it in 2015 with Kendrick’s To Pimp A Butterfly and possibly a new Jay Rock album too. Earlier tonight, Tiffith went on Twitter to hype up the Mar. 23 release date. During his string of tweets, he also shared with us news that Rock has been diligently working on a project and showed us a screenshot of the folder to prove it.

In 2012, the 29-year-old rapper dropped a promotional single titled “YOLA.” In 2014, fans got another solo track, “Parental Advisory,” that brought his Watts roots into the limelight. His most buzzworthy song has been “Pay For It” with K. Dot, which they recently shared how it came together in the studio. You can bet that the tough-talking rhymer won’t be overlooked this year.
