Watch Jay-Z and Jaz-O Freestyle in 1989

Jay-Z has come a long way from being Jaz-O's hype man in the 1980s. But it is still great to relive some of the footage of those days and marvel at how the transformation from weed-carrier to rap mogul has taken place, which is what makes this clip from 1989 of a much younger Hov rhyming alongside his former mentor over the instrumental for "So What Cha Sayin" by EPMD so intriguing.

Maybe Kanye West would be more appreciative of the pink ensemble than the "Suit and Tie" look Jay goes for these days.
