When it comes to making waves in the rap game, being on television all the time doesn't hurt. (Just ask Will Smith).
Actor Donald Glover (a.k.a. Childish Gambino) is already an underground sensation whose independent album CAMP sold well, and he already has enough fans to sell out a joint comedy/music tour across the country.
He's already starring in season two of Girls next year. All he needs is one big song to break out in music, too. We're betting that he can make it happen.
Danny Brown
The always-entertaining Danny Brown spent the early part of his career dwelling in the underground, but he's clearly ready for a bigger look.
Ever since signing to Fool's Gold, things have been clicking for the Detroit MC. His critically acclaimed album, XXX, and a steady schedule of tour dates is still winning him fans months after the fact. When his next album drops in 2013, expect Danny's star power to reach the stratosphere.
Mac Miller
Mac Miller already scored a No. 1 album with Blue Slide Park, but to many, he's only beginning to rise. Mac has proven that he can move albums and sell out concerts, and he doesn't even have a Top 40 hit yet.
In other words, the future is bright for this Pittsburgh rapper as soon as he drops that monster smash. With the level of support behind him, you know it's coming.
Big Sean
Kanye's protégé finally became famous last year, but he's just now starting to get the respect he deserves after killing all his verses on Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music compilation, Cruel Summer.
After years of hard work, he's finally honed his style and is making more of an impact on the charts and the streets than ever before. Look for his next set to skip the sophomore slump and go straight for the hits. Oh God!
