Bon Iver Records Joint Album With Astronautalis

They want to get the project out as soon as possible.

Justin Vernon, of Bon Iver, just keeps on collaborating with artists you might otherwise think improbable. We've already heard his work with everyone from Kanye West to The Flaming Lips, and now it appears that the falsetto-y singer-songwriter has put something together with Minneapolis spitter Astronautalis.

The two recorded their project with some help from multi-instrumentalist S. Carey, also of Bon Iver, and producer Ryan Olson, who you might know from Gayngs. They apparently recorded all the music and some vocals with Vernon while Astronautalis freestyled for nearly eight hours(!). He told City Pages that they want to get the music soon and will likely announce some shows in the meantime.
