1 p.m. ET: The primary is well under way: Voting began today in some parts of New York at 6 a.m. and polls will not close until 9 p.m.

Clinton is overwhelmingly expected to win the New York primary, but Sanders said he thinks he will do "just fine." The Senator and his supporters have complained that New York's closed primary, which only allows those registered with the Democratic or Republican party to vote, has put him at a disadvantage. Sanders has traditionally done well with Independent voters.

Clinton cast her vote at Douglas Grafflin Elementary School in Chappaqua, New York early in the day.

Trump voted at the Central Synagogue in New York City this morning. Of voting for himself he said, "It's a proud moment. It's a great moment."

Voters have been showing last minute support of candidates, with Bernie Sanders out in full force in recent days. Signs supporting the candidate have been ubiquitous in the windows of businesses around the city and outer boroughs in recent weeks. Some supporters are out for some last minute campaigning on Primary day.

Similarly, "Dump Trump" graffiti and other anti-Trump signs have been on the rise.

5:00 p.m. ET: A judge denied an official request to open the polls to Independent voters. The move would have allowed the 3.2 million independent voters registered in New York to participate in the primary. It is reportedly more difficult to change parties in New York than in any other state.

Trump is likely to win big as Cruz, who has repeatedly slammed "New York values" on the campaign trail, unsurprisingly has few vocal supporters in the state. Earlier today, New York Republican Representative Pete King slammed Cruz, saying, "I think I'll take cyanide if he gets the nomination."

Meanwhile, in Republican John Kasich's campaign...

5:45 p.m. ET: A voter in Harlem is claiming there were no Republican ballots at his polling center. He reportedly eventually obtained a Republican ballot after waiting.

Exit polls show the Democratic race is very close with Clinton holding onto a small lead ahead of Sanders.

9:45 pm ET: Hillary Clinton has won the Democratic primary in New York with a projected 60 percent of the vote to Sanders's 35 percent.

10:26 pm ET: Clinton gives a confident victory speech: "The race for the Democratic nomination is in the home stretch and victory is in sight." She also addresses Sanders supporters, saying, "I believe there is much more that unites us than divides us."
