Mortal Kombat Co-Creator Ed Boon Feels Toasty While Eating Spicy Wings | Hot Ones

Ed Boon is one of the greatest game creators to ever do it, and he has the resume to back it up. If you’re not familiar with the programming legend, he’s the co-creator of the iconic Mortal Kombat game series, as well as a world-record holder for the longest-serving video-game voice actor (the indelible “get over here!” call from Scorpion came straight from the mind and mouth of Boon). He’s dreamed up ways for players to survive ice blasts from Sub-Zero and to conquer Kitana’s killer fan, but today he’s stepping up to the Hot Ones challenge with one goal in mind: finish them (Mortal Kombat voice). More than 30 years after the release of the original Mortal Kombat, Boon and his team are releasing the much-anticipated Mortal Kombat 1, which resets the universe and ushers in a new era of the beloved franchise. Boon has seen his share of fatalities through the decades, but have they prepared him to beat the wings of death? Watch the gaming legend fight his way through an extra-hot five-wing lineup on this special episode of Hot Ones.

Hot Ones
Hot Ones is the most talked-about interview show on the Internet, thanks in part to its game-changing format: For every question that they field from host Sean Evans, guests must join him in eating a progressively spicy chicken wing. The hot sauces that coat the wings act like a truth serum, bringing out some of the most honest and hilarious reactions you'll see in any Q&A. The deeply researched topics ensure that the interviews always elicit a major response—both from the celebrity talent taking on the wings, as well as the millions of die-hard fans who tune in weekly. The show's viral interviews and cult fan base have turned it into a pop-culture phenomenon covered by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The New York Times. Past guests include Kevin Hart, Rachael Ray, Scarlett Johansson, Gordon Ramsay, Charlize Theron, DJ Khaled, and Rob Gronkowski. The show launched in March 2015 and new episodes drop Thursdays at 11AM on First We Feast.
