Copenhagen-based Tekla—known for its sleepwear and bedding—has returned with a newly expanded line of towels, bathrobes, and bathmats made from terry towelling.

The collection explores the nuances of Finland’s sauna culture and is showcased through a campaign shot by Philip Messmann and Frederik Säll along with an essay from Josefine Skomars.

Citing the “two million saunas and only five million people” in Finland, Skomars explains in the essay: “Here, a visit to the sauna is a ritual of care. There are physical benefits of the extreme temperature shifts and the rush of endorphins flushing the body—but perhaps most important is the moment to oneself that the sauna offers. Here, we are out of reach from the modern world. The intensity of the sensations brings us home to our bodies and urges us to be present. Embraced by warmth, the body releases the tensions that have accumulated unnoticed, and worries drop away along with the sweat running down the skin.”

This “ritual of care” is referenced throughout the collection, which offers four new colour options alongside Tekla’s core iterations. Notable options include  “Ivory” and “Red and Rose” striped bathrobes, as well as accompanying “Siena” bathmats and towel sets.

You can cop Telka’s bathrobes and towels set via the brand’s webstore on February 12; the bathmats will drop on February 18.tekla-terry-towelling-collection-1tekla-terry-towelling-collection-2tekla-terry-towelling-collection-4tekla-terry-towelling-collection-3tekla-terry-towelling-collection-7tekla-terry-towelling-collection-5
