First seen at Pitti Uomo’s SS23 Sustainability Style showcase and during Paris Fashion Week, London-based label MAXIME continues to explore the many elements that make up a home––along with the feelings of serenity, comfort and security associated with it––through its fourth collection entitled Edition 4 – THE ESCAPE

Centred around tactile textures and a close connection to the English countryside, the collection is captured at an atmospheric 16th century oak farmhouse, set within two acres of wild gardens and meadows. Drawing inspiration from the location’s contrasting elements; standouts include structured boxy blazers, fluid tailored trousers and oversized trench coats dressed with broderie anglaise artwork and contrast stitching.

Knitted jacquards with Italian merino wool also weave into artisanal patterns on crewnecks and sleeveless knits, while raschel fabric appliques first find themselves on a variety of different garments and finally as entire raschel shirts.

In addition to the outerwear offering, the soft jersey range also comprises a slew of contrast stitch polos, digital print and blanket stitch hoodies, as well as T-shirts readied in a colour palette of earthly tones, beiges, taupe, mid and dark browns, and sage, as well as vibrant rusty hues and a “Deep Peacock” blue.

Finally the accessories range consists of footwear, bucket hats and scarves. The classic monk-strap gets an update with a single strap construction in Italian calf or ponyskin leathers. Wool textured jacquard appliques and straps adorn bucket hats and scarves are made out of raschel fabric reminiscent of tapisserie or blankets often found in old countryside homes.
