JACOB LATIMORE X WALMART NO BOUNDARIES LOOKBOOK
“Will Smith is one of my inspirations,“ Jacob tells Complex. “When he texts me, it usually starts with, ‘What’s up, Sun?’ “See what he did there?”
Quickly becoming one of the most beloved stars of his generation, Jacob Latimore’s energy lights up a room. The accomplished 22-year-old singer and actor has been in the game for over 10 years, starting with Radio Disney and now playing the sneaker-obsessed teen father Emmett on The Chi. This past April, Jacob released his second studio album, Connection2, solidifying his career as an artist.
Coming off of shooting Season 3 of The Chi, we caught up with the multi-hyphenate about his style and thoughts on Walmart's new clothing line No Boundaries.
Pointing to his oversized black knit, Jacob notes, “This cut is on-point.”
As a dancer, Jacob relies heavily on relaxed streetwear. He tells us this look could easily go for thousands of dollars with designers like Jerry Lorenzo, but he accomplishes an equally luxe feel using a bomber jacket styled over a longer tee knit without burning the wallet.
A frequent traveler on and off set, Latimore shares, “I never wear jeans to the airport, but these could be in the rotation. I’m surprised by how comfortable they are.”
With almost 1 million followers on IG, being a full-time celebrity might sound exhausting to the average person. Not for Jacob. His ear-to-ear smile is a constant; you would think he never has a bad day. When asked about mentors, he mentions, “I look up to Will [Smith] as a mentor. I remember a story Will told me about being inspired by Nelson Mandela… how Will met Mandela and the way the peacemaker shook everyone’s hand, and made them feel seen. I want to be like that, too.” For this shoot, the bright yellow track jacket resembles Latimore – always-on, positive and ready-to-go.
“This plaid is fire. I will wear this everyday.”
Before the photoshoot ends, Jacob reminds us several times the plaid is fire. The colorway is exactly what he needs. He decides on the spot he wants to cop the entire plaid line. Finding the right silhouette and plaid prints to match your sneaker game can be hard, but Walmart's latest label No Boundaries makes the search effortless. The current collection offers affordable plaid for both men and women that rival luxury French incumbents The Kooples and Sandro.
No Boundaries Men's Long Sleeve French Terry Crewneck T-Shirt in Winter White, No Boundaries Men's Knit Solid Stripe Jogger Pants in Red Mark
“This is my airport fit, 100%!”
Just as his obsession with the No Boundaries plaid shirts, Jacob obsesses over the track pants. His low-key style is best described by the en vogue track pants. Retailers have a hard time nailing the size of the stripe when it comes to track pants, but not Walmart. These bottoms pair well with any crewneck sweater or tee.
When asked about upcoming projects, Jacob tells us, “I’m excited about my third studio album, Connection3. Now that I’m older and have gone through things, I’m ready to make a deeper connection with my audience, hence the continuation of the album series.”
Be sure to stock your Fall wardrobe by shopping the full No Boundaries collection here and look out for Jacob’s third studio album Connection3, which will include remixes of his popular tracks from Connection2.
