After recently debuting its collection at London Fashion Week, ready-to-wear label BMUET(TE) has unveiled a closer look at its Spring/Summer 2022 collection.

Created by Byungmun Seo and Jina Um, BMUET(TE) is well known for its rebellious yet sophisticated aesthetic. Striving to advance a reinterpretation of classic and luxury design cues with deconstruction-touch, the label’s main source of inspiration is the punk revolution, which is always met with a luxury twist.

“The concept for SS22 is Surplus Reality,” reads a press release from the label. “This concept expresses a faerie deviance that escapes our daily ways of experiencing reality and reinterprets it from a rather unfamiliar point of view.”

Androgynous styles, bold shaping and structural designs feature heavily in the collection via a monochrome colour palette, with the UK’s distinctive punk scene referenced through tailored uniforms, meticulous cuts, and structural shirts.

Elsewhere, feminine silhouettes—such as voluminous dresses and contemporary outerwear—arrive in hints of pink and yellow and sit alongside a flurry of elevated menswear staples, which build upon the label’s quality of elegant rawness and distinctive taste.
