Nowadays, Uzi is one of hip-hop’s biggest superstars, but back in 2016 they were still an up-and-coming artist trying to find their footing. Many would argue that their first breakout single was “Money Longer,” which would later appear as the third track on their third mixtape Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World. The title was a riff off of the cult-favorite graphic novel-turned-feature film Scott Pilgrim Vs the World. The cover art continued the theme, showing off a purple-haired Uzi drawn in the novel’s signature style. To further cement the image, a custom chain of the illustration was created by celebrity jeweler Ben Baller. According to IF and Co.’s website, the chain is worth $100,000 and is constructed of 100 carats of diamonds and gemstones in various colors. The choker is covered in 100 carats of VS diamonds. When they first revealed the piece to the world back in April 2017 via Instagram, Ben Baller said it was one of the top three pieces he's ever made in his entire career. That comes across with this ridiculously expensive inverted cross necklace, which was also crafted by Eliantte. Lil Uzi pulled up to the Grammys rocking this chain when they were nominated for Best New Artist in 2018. According to TMZ, the chain was finished three hours before the show. It featured a 60-carat upside-down cross wrapped in gold and diamond vines that hung from an 80-carat diamond chain. Crosses have always been one of Uzi’s most controversial jewelry choices.
