Diddy wore custom couture Sean John to the 2023 edition of the Met Gala on Monday night.

The look, seen in detail above and below, saw Diddy designing in collaboration with June Ambrose to tastefully pay tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld. Included in the ensemble was a black motorcycle tuxedo featuring wool and rayon with 600 Swarovski crystals and black pearls, a taffeta rainwear puffer cape with more than 1000 custom camellia flowers, and a number of Lagerfeld-inspired accessories.

As Diddy noted in a tweet, his look on Monday night was actually designed to serve as a dual tribute for two late icons of fashion: Karl Lagerfeld and André Leon Talley.

When speaking with La La Anthony on Monday night, Diddy noted the importance of wearing Sean John to the annual event.

“This is Sean John’s debut,” he said, adding that it marks the first time he’s designed in 10 years.

As fans already know, Diddy was reported back in 2021 to have regained control of the Sean John brand more than 20 years after he first launched it to historic success. In a statement to Complex at the time, Diddy looked ahead to the task of writing “the next chapter of Sean John’s legacy.”
