While the rest of the world was fixated on a certain reality TV star's derrière, a plastic surgeon recently introduced the latest and weirdest development in boob implants: InstaBreast. It's an injection that lets women try out implants for a day, sort of like test driving a brand new car.

The procedure takes around 20 minutes, costs $2,500, and sounds pretty straight forward. Saline solution is injected into the breasts, giving them an instant lift that lasts 24 hours. "The saline gets absorbed by the body," explained Dr. Norman Rowe, one of the few doctors in the United States who offers the temporary augmentation. "It's for the women who don't have time for implants."

InstaBreast is also convenient for those who want to get a feel for what life with bigger breasts is like before committing to the real deal. Apparently, it's been a hit among two of Rowe's patients, who have returned to have the process done twice.

"You can use 3D imaging and put implants in bras," he said. "But it's another thing to see what the weight will actually feel like and what it will be like to live with the new breasts." But is a temporarily enhancement worth thousands of dollars?

"24 hours is great, but it's still just 24 hours." Right now, Rowe's working on a longer-lasting procedure he calls "vacation breasts," expected to hit the market in about two years. Unlike InstaBreast, vacation breasts will last for two weeks. They may also cost less, depending on how popular the procedure gets, the surgeon said.

As for men looking to beef up on their build, the same saline solution could be applied towards muscles. "Men might want to use it for pec[toral] or calf implants," Rowe added.
