During the day, the property located at 53 High Park Street in Liverpool's Toxeth district looks like nothing more than an abandoned warehouse. Once night falls, however, the shutter of the building's garage rolls up to reveal a tank filled with live jellyfish, radiating with a mystifying blue light.
To spread their idea that art within the public realm contains the power to inspire, art duo Walter Hugo & Zoniel created this installation, appropriately dubbing it The Physical Possibility of Inspiring Imagination in the Mind of Somebody Living. Indeed, there is something quite inspiring about this bewitching sight. From far away, it looks as if the entire building has been flooded with water and that jellyfish have taken over the derelict space.
Even though the installation opened at the end of June, there was no formal announcement of the opening since Walter Hugo & Zoniel wanted locals to discover it "organically," on their own. Go see The Physical Possibility of Inspiring Imagination in the Mind of Somebody Living and get inspired before it closes on July 27.
