Saint Laurent Spring/Summer 2015 Footwear Is Haute Garbagio

None

Something is happening over at Saint Laurent and I'm not sure I like it. There are a whole lot of problems with the haute garbagio line of footwear SLP is releasing for S/S 15. Granted, I like a lot of SLP's sneakers, even though they're basically Jordan I's marked up an extra $400, but the cowboy boots and takes on moccasin-like footwear got me more fucked up than Margiela appointing John Galliano as its Creative Director. It's as if Hedi took the ankle fringe of the visvim FBT and dropped it wherever he wanted. But that's not alll, he took the star patterning of Golden Goose, struggle fashion sneaker brand numero uno, and threw it on his Vans Authentic, alongside blue paisley, miniature stars and camo. These are all things that have been done before, just not in conjunction with one another. And there's probably a good reason for that. I understand Hedi has really championed the turbo tight jeans-wearing rocker look in his time at SLP, but does he really think these will sell? I mean, when it's all said and done, they probably will, especially to those with high levels of income and low levels of taste, but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do.
