I think we've all purchased something online while under the influence of both legal and illegal substances at some point. Possibly liquid courage can get you to convince yourself to buy something you'd never actually wear sober and it will eventually sit in your closet until you decide to either trash it or try to recoup $10 for it somewhere online. That's usually the route a terrible drunk purchase goes. But sometimes, ingenuity shows its face and in this case, a Reddit user decided he was going to take life by the throat and turn that terrible piece of clothing into something, well, marginally better.
He bought this this garbage, very bright camo blazer while drunk a while back and it just sat unworn, taunting him. But he wasn't going to take it anymore, so he hit the craft store and bought some dye in an effort to make it a much more tolerable shade of camo. He removed the awful shoulder pads and got to work on this shit. If you follow the thread as he updates it, it's pretty great. He fully admits that the sleeves are way too fucking short and the stitching also didn't take the dye all that well, staying the bright neon green/yellow it came with because, for weird some reason, almost all stitching does that. I don't get it. There's probably some actual rationale behind it, but whatever. All you need to know is that the end result actually looks pretty good! Decent work all around, my good man.
So, if you've got a piece of clothing in your closet you actually kind of hate, but think could be salvaged, you might want to consider this D.I.Y. approach. Definitely slam a few beers while you're at it, lie to your girlfriend that you're now going to wear it all the time and, please, for the love of god, just don't but anything else in the drunken aftermath.
