When Ralph Lauren stepped down as the CEO earlier this week, the world was pretty shocked. Fortunately, it was made clear that Ralph would still be around as the chief creative officer and still have his hand in the actual design process as always. But a deity like him doesn't just step down and say nothing about it. Buzzfeed got a copy of the company-wide memo Ralph sent to his employees. In it, Ralph talks about making the decision for the company's future and says he is "not stepping down, nor am I stepping back. I am stepping up." As for the future of his company, he's confident in his successor, Stefan Larsson, and he'll still be around to "nurture and grow" the Ralph Lauren brand. Just some warm words from the gawd.
