Full-on drugs, while dope, may be a bit of a stretch here, but Style Dot Com just posted up this story about fashion designers flocking to Ayahuasca, which is a hallucinogenic brew of tea. According to the "Effects" section of its Wikipedia page, those who sip the tea (no Kermit) experience something like a spiritual rebirth. Users have reported revelations about the meaning on life, conversations with dead people, crossing into the spirit realm and just generally wild side-effects. It should come as no surprise that the degenerates of the fashion community have apparently taken to Ayahuasca like moths to a trippy ass flame.

Most of the time, people can only drink the tea in the presence of a shaman and it's usually done in a sage-filled room or even the rainforest. Basically, it sounds like acid or molly, but without, like, your brain slowly dying over time. Designers like Ricky Hendry of Isaora and Johan Lindeberg of BLK DNM, amongst others, have mentioned that the drug helps them think about their work in a different way and possibly find different approaches to design. Whether it was the feel of a garment or just an improved self-awareness, Ayahuasca gives them a new, guiding light, which Lindeberg describes as being "pure."

I don't know about you, but with this sort of thing, you gotta get in on the ground floor so you can claim #influence. Is anyone going to South American anytime soon that can bring me back a grip of this shit? We can go in 50/50 and do some street-level pushing. I figure staying at home and reading Four Pins while super fucking dusted is more fun than hitting up an all-night rave and sweating your dick off.
