Photographer Shoots Refugee-Inspired Fashion Editorial, Response Is Justifiable Outrage

If you've been following world news at all, you may have heard about the refugee and migrant crisis currently happening in Europe. There are a lot of layers to this and it's best if you take a look over some of the recent news pieces about it rather than let me say something wrong that brings shame upon myself, my family and Four Pins. But you can take solace in the fact that while you might not know everything about it, you're definitely not a completely and utterly insensitive dickhead like Hungarian photographer Norbert Baksa who recently helmed a fashion photoshoot "inspired" by the situation happening in Europe entitled "Der Migrant."

Between the photo of a woman taking a selfie in a hijab-like scarf by a razor wire fence with her shirt open or one of a woman being dragged away by police, it's pretty fucking rough. Baksa says that the purpose of the shoot was to bring together different viewpoints and raise awareness of the issue and that the photos were reproductions of ones seen in the Hungarian media, but considering they were already in the media, did he really think it needed the extra awareness a fashion editorial would bring? It seems like most people disagree with this type of tone-deaf signal boost and rightfully so.
