JEKEUN's Pre-Fall 2023 Collection Is A Journey Through Time & Self
Featuring manipulated silhouettes and reinterpreted tailoring.
London-based menswear imprint JEKEUN is showcasing its new lookbook for Pre-Fall 2023. The collection promises a variety of tailoring, shirting and trousers, which build on the label’s Korean and Japanese heritage.
Continuing to explore the modern male psyche, designer Jekeun Cho anchors the collection against the coming-of-age paradox. Here, vintage school blazers and rugby jerseys are slashed and upcycled alongside oversized tailoring, creating a narrative that captures the spirit of a boy who grows too fast, longing for adulthood whilst trapped in the slow passage of time.
Highlights include a pair of deconstructed shorts made from revamped trousers, adding to the overall messaging. Exploring the idea of sizing, the pieces embody this seaon’s protagonist, Jekeun Cho, who is overwhelmed in a world full of adults and, vice-versa: a man struggling to overcome the inner-child full of nervousness and hesitation.
