"Past to Present: Tattoo Paintings" At Independence Seaport Museum

Framing contemporary tattoo images in the context of historical flash art (the term used to describe individual tattoos), Past To Present shares recent paintings that feed into a long tradition. Curated by Troy Temple, owner of Kingpin Tattoo Supply, the exhibition opened to coincide with last month's Philadelphia tattoo Convention. The included material speaks to the continuity of interests in the last 150 years of American tattooing.
The exhibition runs through May 20, 2011.
