With the winter coming in strong now and the cold keeping us tucked in our cribs, what's the first thing us at Complex are going to do? Rent movies. Lots of 'em. Rack 'em up. And not just any movies. We're going to hit up our favorite movies that have inspired us throughout the years, especially in our style.

There are some classics out there that have movie characters with swagger on high. No matter how old the movie might be, their style is still applicable today. Akeem Joffer in "Coming to America"

When the Prince of Zamunda touched down in NYC to find a wife, he went balls to the wall with style. Prince Akeem wanted to fit in inconspicuously, but with that killer varsity jacket, denim, and snapback cap, he went above and beyond the call of duty. Though he may have worn his love for New York on his sleeve (and hat and jacket), we recommend scaling back on the pins, but still rocking 'em with pride.

Han Solo in "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back"

The force was definitely strong with Han Solo in "The Empire Strikes Back" when he left the Rebel Alliance base  to save an abandoned Luke Skywalker. While the stylish, yet cocky Corellian found himself pining for the love of Princess Leia, his impeccable taste in fur-hooded parkas and thick scarves to battle the harsh climate on the ice planet Hoth won the hearts of many a fashion nerd worldwide. Just please don't mix Star Wars with Star Trek. Those dudes had no swag.

Dr. Robert Neville in "I Am Legend" 

When you're living in a city where 90% of it's inhabitants are dead and the rest are freakishly fast and strong zombies and it's all your fault, we would think it would be hard to get out of bed and dressed in the morning. Dr. Robert Neville didn't quite see it that as he still pulled off a stylish city hunter vibe in "I Am Legend" that definitely piqued our sartorial interest, even though he didn't really have anyone to dress up for except that mannequin in the movie store. We don't blame him, though. Gotta get it somehow, right?

Alvy Singer in "Annie Hall"

You may think "poor Alvy" when you think about the trials and tribulations he went through to try and maintain his relationship with Annie Hall, but the dude certainly didn't need any help in the style department. Mr. Singer showed how to hold it down, even with damn-near debilitating neuroses throughout the movie that could make anyone squeamish with anxiety. The everyday casual look Alvy pulled off is classic as classic as the film.

The Dude in "The Big Lebowski"

Bowling, White Russians, and urine-stained rugs aren't all "The Dude" Lebowski had going for him. The dude had style. Lebowski's nonchalant, I-don't-give-a-fuck style was encapsulated by his oversized Pendleton cowichan, saggy tees, and shades covering his haze-filled eyes. You can't deny the aura of swag The Dude had around him, though it very well could have been weed smoke. We'd update the outfit slightly, but we'll take the look and the lifestyle, sans multiple ass-whoopings.

Roland Bishop in "Juice"

Representing Riverside to the fullest, Roland Bishop and The Wrecking Crew went above and beyond to try to gain respect. And though we don't necessarily agree with Roland's ethical choices in 1992's "Juice," all they needed to do was follow his sense of style — because he was killing it in with a haircut that is still being duplicated to this day and a denim on denim look that would make any Canadian proud. As MMG would say, "salute!"

When Steve Zissou and hgis crew  took to the ocean to find and kill the vicious Jaguar shark who ate his beloved friend, he went down there in style. While the entire squad was laced with incredible gear, including one of our most stylish Asian-Americans Waris Ahluwalia, like the ever-popular red watch caps, some pimp-ish blue jumpers and Adidas kicks that had the Internet going nuts, it was Zissou's night time shawl collared "Z" sweater and blue oxford that truly captivated the depths of our style-minded hearts.

Marty McFly in "Back to the Future"

As one of the most iconic characters in history, Marty McFly has set the bar pretty high for movie character style. Not only did he conjure up that casual swag in "Back to the Future" that is still very much applicable today, but he also started a revolution with one of the most highly-anticipated Nike releases of all time. We have no problem grabbing inspiration from the McFlyest of them all with some of the pieces, but we don't think we'll be dropping large skrilla on the Air Mags anytime soon.
