Nas, Heron Preston, and More to Appear at IMG's Made x PayPal Event for Emerging Creatives

The two-day event, curated by Public School founders, will take place next week at St. Ann's Warehouse in New York City's Brooklyn Bridge Park.

PayPal and talent incubator Made have joined forces to celebrate culture, community, and emerging designers.

Presented by IMG, the Made x PayPal 2022 event will go down June 24-25 at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Public School founders/designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, who are also Made alumni, curated the two-day event that aims to highlight emerging creatives who work within the realms of fashion, art, and music.

“There’s brilliance out there, you know, that just needs to get a chance, that just needs to have someone believe in them and spend the time with them,” Chow said in a promotional video, “and be, like, ‘You’re special.’ And [Made] did that for us.”

Made x PayPal will include fashion shows featuring work by Des Pierrot, Maya Wang (Fried Rice), Long Xu (LORING New York), Michael Graham (Savant Studios) and Colin LoCascio—all of whom will unveil original designs made with Public School deadstock materials. Attendees will have the chance to shop the limited edition pieces at MADE Marketplace; proceeds from the sales of the merchandise will go toward Young New Yorkers, a nonprofit youth program that focuses on art.

Other brands participating in the market include Bronx Native, Depop, Fubu, Stadium Goods, Studio 189, and the Motherland Plug .

Kingsley Gbadegesin (K.NGSLEY), Thermal and K$ace (Whensmokeclears), and Shanel Campbell (Bed On Water) will also make their runway debuts during Made x PayPal. The designers worked with Chow and Osborne as part of Made’s mentorship program.

High-profile figures like Nas, Heron Preston, and choreographer Parris Goebel are scheduled to make appearances.

Made x PayPal will take place June 24-25. You can learn more about the event and register for free tickets at Made’s website.
