Movie: Ghost World (2001)

Enid has graduated from high school—well, almost. She has to take a remedial art course over the summer after her senior year; she's talented, but her art teacher thinks her work isn't saying anything. That changes when Enid brings in an old, racially insensitive poster for a fried chicken restaurant, which she presents as a statement about racism. Her teacher is so impressed by Enid's new-found depth that she eventually offers her a scholarship to art school.

TV Show: How I Met Your Mother 

Lily Aldrin is said to have gone to art school, where she dyed her hair black and gothed it up with a Kurt Cobain lookalike boyfriend, but like most art school grads she failed to become the next Picasso. Her backup career is teaching kindergarten.

It's to attend art school in Europe to cultivate her drawing skills, a talent she hints at when she sketches her love interest/the antagonist of the film, Lucy Diamond (Jordana Brewster). Eventually, Amy gets her wish and the two run away to fulfill her dream together. 

TV Show: One Tree Hill 

Quinn James is Haley James' hot older sister. In fact, the first time she appeared on the show, which wasn't until season seven, one of her first lines was "I am hot." Quinn went to the the Brooks Institute and studied photography, leading to a career as a professional photographer.
