The guest list for the Kanye West x adidas Originals presentation yesterday was a definite who's who of music and fashion elite and included Beyoncé, Jay Z, Alexander Wang, Rihanna, Diddy, Cassie, 2 Chainz, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, among others. But there was one pop star who didn't make it—Taylor Swift, despite the fact she was supposed to be there.
Unless you've been living under a rock, you'll remember that Kanye made headlines back in 2009 when he interrupted Taylor's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards because he felt that Beyoncé deserved the award instead. All seems to be forgiven between them though, as they were spotted looking chummy at the Grammy awards last weekend. Perhaps that's when he invited her to his show?
Kanye revealed to Vogue's contributing editor André Leon Talley that she was supposed to be there for the much-hyped event and he "don't know what happened." Taylor hasn't addressed her absence yet, but a source did tell E! News that "Taylor wanted to attend but had a scheduled photo shoot that day that she could not move."
We're sure Taylor and Kanye will have plenty more opportunities to hang out though, since Kanye already revealed to Ryan Seacrest that he wants to hit the studio with her. We wonder if he sent her a pair of Yeezy Boosts too?
