Yesterday, Reed Exhibitions, the parent company behind mega trade shows such as Agenda, announced that they have purchased Capsule, the BPMW-operated, #menswear favorite trade show, for an undisclosed amount. In recent years, Capsule has been hands down the best show in terms of consistently highlighting the most sought after, up-and-coming menswear labels, giving them a platform to meet buyers, editors and fanboys. The event has also become somewhat of a beast (read: clusterfuck) on its own, so it makes sense that a big time corporation would take notice in the interest of getting a piece of the action. What this will mean for the show in terms of brands, sponsorship and overall vibe is unknown, but we're looking forward to seeing the revamped event when it returns to New York later this month.
