Look but Don't Touch, This Rainbow Is Made of Barbed Wire

Rainbows are always exciting to see, and they also communicate a good message announcing that the rain has passed. Bali-based conceptual artist Ole Ukena has created his own rainbow, using an unexpected material—barbed wire. The sculpture titled "Protected Paradise" spans across four meters and completes a semicircular shape under which a person can stand.
While the rainbow symbolizes paradise, the barbed wire expresses a contradicting mood. The material is usually used as a means of restricting access to a protected area and to keep things out and away. At first, the rainbow might invite you to come closer, but soon reveals its not-so-friendly texture. Sometimes, things are best viewed from afar.
