Matali Crasset Transforms a Student Dorm into a Mini Mart
Where did you eat in college?

In an attempt to bring awareness to the lack of healthy food available to university students, the designer Matali Crasset designed a convenience store out of a student dorm. Contrasting the stark neutral concrete colors of the building behind it, the “Mini M Social Neighborhood Grocery Shop” seeks to divert attention from the university cafeteria. “The grocery shop project for Toulouse University,” the designer write, “is part of an overall focus regarding available food services within student environments." The graphic design of the shop was created by the agency Praline, with assistance from Dominique Serre and Terres Nuages. Inside and out, the team used eye-catching colors to draw the attention, making the space bright and contemporary.
