Check out this innovative new asphalt application a British company has developed, allowing asphalt and tarmac pathways across to be lit by ultraviolet particles—without electricity.
The application, called Starpath, was developed by Pro-Teq Surfacing, to be used in the case of streetlamps being cut off at night. Cambridge City Council recently covered a trail at Christ’s Pieces as the lights cut out at night. Now, people can still see the direction of the winding path in the dark.
The accusation by some commenters on YouTube is the application doesn’t necessarily work as well as advertised, as no video of the pathway at night is shown—only long-exposure photographs. However, our thought is any advancement toward not using electricity for this kind of end is a step on the good path. Check it out above.
