Showing now at the 54th International Art Exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia in Italy, Anton Ginzburg's exhibit "At the Back of the North Wind" explores the concept of Hyperborea, a mythical region that is said to have existed in one of three locations. Ginzburg went on a three-part quest, beginning in the American North West (Astoria, Oregon), continuing to St. Petersburg and then to the White Sea in Norther Russia, to explore the areas where Hyperborea was supposed to have existed. The exhibition includes three large-scale sculptural installations, eight site-specific bas reliefs, photography, paintings, a video installation and a series of works on paper around the concept. The installation will be on display through November 27. [Anton Ginzburg]
