After clocking it with the outstanding Heritage Collection only a week ago, Mitchell and Ness are ready to reup with what might be the basketball world’s most-anticipated throwback jersey release. The long-awaited Michael Jordan 1983-84 UNC jersey will be available next week.
During his time at the University of North Carolina, Michael Jordan linked up with future NBA stars James Worthy and Sam ‘Big Smooth’ Perkins, and soon-to-be NBL star Cecil Exum. The next-gen ballers lead the Tar Heels to the 1982 NCAA Championship and it was, of course, a famous Jordan jumpshot from the corner that clinched the championship game over Georgetown.
“The Shot”, as it came to be known, changed the perception of Jordan from a ‘could be’ to a certain ‘will be’. And, shortly after hitting the clutch jump shot, people stopped calling him Mike. From that point on, he was Michael.
The history-making jersey will be yours to own from 9AM Wednesday March 30 at Culture Kings. Don’t hit the snooze on this one, you know the stock won’t last long.
