Fresh off the release of his Dr. Martens collaboration, the American designer has unveiled another co-branded range with the athletic-wear giant. Rick Owens and Champion debuted their first capsule during Paris Fashion Week in June 2019, and released the range about a year ago.
Their latest collection picks up right where the previous one left off, offering another selection of monochromatic athleisure-wear. Key garments include sweatshirts, sweatpants, mesh shorts, T-shirts, and light outerwear. There’s also a number of accessories like caps, bucket hats, tote bags, pocket purses, and face coverings.
Owens spoke about his growing list of collaborations during a recent interview with Hypebeast, explaining he had initially dismissed the idea of collaborative collections.
“Doing collaborations has been an interesting new exercise for me — originally I dismissed collaborations as hype machines and I rolled my eyes, like a lot of us,” Owens said. “I’ve been aloof and reclusive for so long, but I changed my life a little bit and I opened up a little bit more. I was ready to talk to people, I was ready to participate in the world more. Before, I had my head down, working on my own in isolation. I’d been doing that for 18 years, and it felt like time to look around and meet some people, get involved and participate in the world.”
