It may sound a little strange, but Cristina Bergoglio, niece of Pope Francis (formerly Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio), really is opening an art exhibition at the Conrad Hotel in Miami. Bergoglio is an architect and painter and has been working as a professional artist since 1987, long before her uncle was denouncing art exhibitions as "blasphemous" and demanding that they close.
Bergoglio spoke with Local 10 News in Miami about the upcoming exhibition and about her views on the church. "I'm not afraid to say I see the church as outdated," she said, "and that's why I believe life has put my uncle to renew this certain system of thought that was getting stagnated."
