It's easy to find terrible and mediocre tattoos on the Internet, but every now and then we are introduced to an artist that is producing phenomenal work and we feel obligated to share it. Pietro Sedda, an artist based in Milan, creates unique tattoos that typically involve portraits and surreal imagery. The pieces are beautiful but also a little creepy, not unlike the work of Salvador Dali or Rene Magritte.

In an interview with Inked, Sedda listed Japanese designer Issey Miyake and artists Victor Castillo, Max Ernst, and Dutch painters of the 1600s as his teachers. He described his style as "melancholic," but said that he doesn't like definitions. "I prefer to talk about talent and imagination. I consider the exchange between myself and the client a fundamental part of my creative process."
