Kid Cudi debuted a stunning new chain created in collaboration with Ben Baller and KAWS at the 2021 Met Gala. Cudi paired the chain with an outfit from Louis Vuitton.

Both Ben Baller/Ben Yang and KAWS/Brian Donnelly took to social media to give a more detailed look at the new diamond and 18K gold piece that they created for Cudi. The piece features a working backpack compartment that Cudi is apparently planning to use for emergency weed.

“And for those asking me… yes. The space man’s backpack really opens up,” Ben Baller wrote on Twitter. “Scott wanted to be able to hold some weed in there just in case.”

The jeweler, who revealed that they’ve received offers of $1.6 million for the creation, also took to IG to post pictures and share some words about the piece. TMZ also reported the chain is valued at that price.

“I present you.. THE PIECE of the decade. BBDTC X KAWS ✖️✖️💎 (OFFICIAL COLLABORATION) Commissioned by @KidCudi,” Ben Baller wrote of the 1 of 1 piece, which is titled “Space.” He continued, “This is the most detailed and intricate piece of jewelry I’ve ever created in my entire career. From the micro pavé setting on the wrinkles & hoses in the astronaut suit to the functional backpack(has a secret compartment) Thank you KAWS for trusting me to make this piece to the superior #KAWSstandard. Thanks to my entire team at @ifandco as we had to shut down our entire factory for 3 months to make this. Thank you @kidcudi for the vision and our friendship, we always take it to the next next next level.”

Donnelly also shared photos of the piece to his IG page, writing, “Thanks for the visit today @kidcudi So fun working on this chain with @benballer for you! @ifandco craftsmanship is 👌👌👌 edition of one with one AP…”

You can check out detailed photos of the piece below.

Ben Baller teased the piece earlier this month and called it “the biggest chain of my entire 17 year jewelry career.”

Back in May, Ben Baller showed off a grill featuring a “tv pixelation pattern” that he also made for Cudi.
