Kim Kardashian released a statement on Sunday, addressing the controversy surrounding a recent Balenciaga photo shoot featuring children holding teddy bears that appear to be in bondage gear.
Kardashian broke her silence earlier today, explaining why she waited so long to speak out. She said she was “disgusted and outraged” by the images.
Kardashian posted an additional message on her Instagram Stories in which she indicated that she’s in the process of re-evaluating her relationship with Balenciaga.
“As for my future with Balenciaga, I am currently re-evaluating my relationship with the brand, basing it off their willingness to accept accountability for something that should have never happened to begin with – and the actions I am expecting to see them take to protect children.”
The brand has since issued an apology and vowed to remove the campaign immediately.
Balenciaga cut ties with the artist formerly known as Kanye West last month after he made a series of anti-Semitic remarks and wore a “White Lives Matter” shirt during the YZY Season 9 presentation in Paris.
