Here's What's Dropping at ComplexCon 2018

This past March, Takashi Murakami teased a possible collab with OVO on his Instagram, posting a photo of an amalgamation of their iconic symbols: the OVO owl and Murakami’s signature flower. Then, in July, Drake wore a black hoodie emblazoned with an image of the same Flower Owl painting. For months, you might’ve wondered what the collab is about and, more importantly, when it’s dropping. Well, the wait is over. Murakami and OVO are bringing apparel and accessories that will feature original paintings by Murakami, curated by Perrotin, to ComplexCon. They’ll also be bringing a giant 9.8-foot-tall Flower Owl painting, as well as smaller four-foot versions.

This is not a drill. Yes, Diamond Supply Co. is releasing new Nike SB Dunks at ComplexCon. Nick Tershay teased a black Dunk Low and, last week, a white Nike SB Dunk Low boasting overlays with the croc-like texture found on the “Tiffany” Dunks and a Velcro Swoosh that reveals a “Tiffany” blue shade underneath. Stop by the Diamond Supply Co. booth to see which colorway will be available.

Billionaire Boys Club is bringing a ton of heat to ComplexCon. Where do we even begin? It will have various Star Trak items, including a varsity jacket, a coaches jacket, bandanas, pins, a cross-body bag, and special products made in collaboration with MANKEY (the artist who designed Bape’s logo) that feature the Star Trak logo and a MANKEY-designed “Vulcan salute” hand graphic. To celebrate its 15th anniversary, the brand is also releasing a special Human Made collaborative T-shirt emblazoned with a print of Nigo’s iconic BBC Ice Cream chains, a tee designed by SK8THING, and a remake of the original Cocoa colorway of the BBC tee Pharrell wore when he debuted the brand in the “Frontin’” music video.

But that’s not all—BBC is also bringing an N*E*R*D collab, including an N*E*R*D x adidas Originals Hu NMD (available via the Frenzy app and shipped directly to your address), a T-shirt, a hoodie, and a pin by Pintrill in the shape of the N*E*R*D Hu NMD. If that’s not enough, BBC will also have several toys—a black Astronaut BE@RBRICK set and a navy Starfield BE@RBRICK (available via the Frenzy app)—collabs with Sandalboyz, and Private Label x BBC sling bags at their booth.

Despite what some of you thought, yes, adidas Originals will be at ComplexCon. This year, the brand is bringing a number of limited releases, including never-before-seen Pusha T EQT Cushion 2s, Pharrell Hu P.O.D. Systems, N*E*R*D Hu NMDs, and a special collaboration with Snoop Dogg celebrating the 25th anniversary of the rapper’s iconic album Doggystyle. But that’s not all. You’ll also have a chance to buy the complete Dragon Ball Z collection and the Dragon Ball Z Son Goku Restomod ZX500s and Frieza Yung-1s.

Before you start planning what you’re going to cop, here’s some important info: To purchase anything, you’ll need to download the ComplexCon app to get access to adidas Originals’ augmented reality store. The app will notify you on how and where you can “unlock the drops.” Product will be released at different moments throughout the weekend via five illuminated beacons placed throughout the convention center. Once you get the notification, you can view and access available product in augmented reality by angling your phone over the beacons and following the instructions to secure the item. All purchases can be collected at a self-service digital lockers that can only be unlocked using the app. Good luck.

AAPE by A Bathing Ape is setting up an interactive booth with help from California-based psychedelic pop artist Steve Harrington. The AAPE booth will feature a two-meter-tall sculpture in its center, along with a DJ booth and a DIY T-shirt workshop that will allow attendees to create their own one-of-a-kind AAPE apparel item. In the workshop, customers will have the ability to purchase a plain AAPE T-shirt and choose from a selection of badges to create their exclusive item. In addition to the tees, AAPE will have small replicas of the booth’s centerpiece available for purchase.

Atmos is back at ComplexCon, and they’re dropping a ton of exclusives. The influential sneaker boutique is releasing ASICS x atmos GEL INST 360s in a silver/red/blue colorway (limited to only 504 pairs), ASICS x atmos x solebox Gel Lyte 3s, and a Mizuno x atmos collab. In addition to all the sneakers, atmos will also have a Timberland collab that includes a jacket, a hoodie, a long-sleeve tee, classic six-inch boots, and a BE@RBRICK. That’s all we can reveal right now, but trust us—they’ve got a couple more collabs we know you’ll definitely want. Keep an eye out for those announcements in the next few days.

For the last two years, Bait’s booth has been one of the highlights of ComplexCon. This coming weekend, the streetwear and sneaker boutique is bringing even more collectibles to the convention center. The lineup includes special Rick and Morty x Bait BE@RBRICKS, an Astro Boy vinyl toy exclusive to Bait, and a Bruce Lee Funko Pop! vinyl figure. If you didn’t get a chance to cop Bait’s gold BE@RBRICK last year—it sold out almost instantly—now might be your chance; it will be available in a much larger, 1000% size at Bait’s booth.

Chinatown Market is releasing a variety of new products, including limited-edition collaborations with Akila and The Hundreds. But you’ll want to stop by their booth for more than that; their space will be themed as a “streetwear fast food restaurant,” inspired by their quick-fire drops and limited restocks. Once you’ve checked out the brand’s booth, be sure to keep an eye out for other Chinatown Market items and custom workshops in booths across ComplexCon, including Timex, Urban Outfitters, and Foot Locker.

Extra Butter is bringing the Lower East Side of New York City to ComplexCon. Through the use of virtual reality technology in partnership with Frenzy, the store is creating an augmented reality experience that will bring you right into its flagship. You’ll also have the first chance to check out their official collabs with the Halal Guys—a project years in the making—and Clarks on an exclusive pair of Wallabees.

For the last two years, Union Los Angeles has not only created amazing experiences with their booths at ComplexCon but also dropped some of the best product on the floor. This year is no different. Over the weekend, Union will be releasing collaborations with Tuff Gong, Vans, Born x Raised, U.S. Alteration, and Real Bad Man. Bephie, a women’s streetwear brand founded by Beth Gibbs, Union co-owner and creative director, will also be available. But as with previous Union booths at ComplexCon—last year Chris Gibbs made the space into an art gallery, of sorts—you’ll definitely want to stop by for more than product.
