Tourne De Transmission took to Kuala Lumpur for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week to showcase their SS19 collection titled RUINS.
Taking inspiration from the ancient Lycian city of Patara in Sout Turkey, the collection looks directly at colour palettes and dress native to the local area.
Shirts and deconstructed coach jackets serve as reworkings of traditional Turkish Haman towels and patterned rugs respectively. Tourne De Transmission looks to the message carrying properties of Oya scarves to further inspire their text-heavy Japanese made wool scarves, with these being worn overhead and across the waist as per tradition.
SS19 pushes to show TDT's commitment to juxtaposing concepts and the brand's own signature aesthetic, developing a collection that sits in a space connected to the past, that provides commentary on the present and dresses the future.
