For more than half a century, Alpha Industries has been dedicated to creating high quality, military-inspired outerwear that pays homage to its heritage. The authenticity of Alpha’s clothing is essentially unparalleled: its iconic MA-1 Flight Jacket and M-65 Field Coat were initially created as the result of a contract the company was awarded by the U.S. Department of Defense in the late 1950s. Since then, Alpha has been at the forefront of military fashion, continually offering new fits, silhouettes, colors, and detailing.
The brand’s new Spring/Summer 2017 collection carries on this long tradition of quality and innovation. Its chief inspiration comes from the design patterns of the Navy SEAL’s special operations force—often described as “modern-day pirates”. The collection introduces new styles as well as updates to some classic hero silhouettes, like the MA-1 Tiger Souvenir Jacket’s style, which pays homage to U.S. servicemen and women who were preparing to head home at the end of WWII, and the Dragon Tour Field Coat, which gives a makeover to the classic M-65 Field Coat. Meanwhile, the L-2B Tiger Souvenir Jacket gives a new spin on the traditional L-2B lightweight flight jacket design, making it more suitable for today’s outerwear trends.
Alpha Industries is also continuing the Flex Patch program that it launched with its Fall/Winter 2016 collection. The brand will be releasing a series of limited edition patches, featuring holiday and military themes, which will only be available for 30 days.
