Schoolboy Q is an icon that we don’t deserve. He’s made incredible music, including his 2014 major label release, Oxymoron, which featured “Studio,” possibly one of the sexiest songs of 2014. He’s back with Blank Face LP, featuring “THat Part” with none other than Kanye West. It’s clearly already a summer jam. And, according to my colleague, Angel Diaz, “in terms of sequencing and overall sound,” Blank Face LP promises to surpass Oxymoron.

While we could talk about Schoolboy Q’s musical prowess all day long, let’s not overlook his California stoner chic signature steeze—full of prints, colors, and most importantly, hats. Schoolboy’s bucket hat game is the best in the business, and he’s one of the few people in the world who can actually pull it off (other than his adorable daughter). In celebration of the release of his new album, let’s take a look at some of his best hats.

When Schoolboy makes a left field choice away his beloved bucket hat, he really owns it. He rocked this blatantly Carmen Sandiego-inspired hat while he was playing principal at Maritime Industries Academy High School, after the school won a visit from him. Only Schoolboy Q could rock a CARMEN SANDIEGO hat with a rosary and mirrored round glasses and look like a totally normal, albeit utterly fashionable person.
