Another Pitti Uomo has come and gone this year, the vibrant city of Florence once again played host to another high caliber showcase, which included a show-stealing collection from Gosha Rubchinskiy. But despite its reputation as one of the most important events in the menswear calendar that doesn’t mean it’s immune to some light-hearted parodying, as shown in this mockumentary video.

Directed by Aaron Christian, who has worked in the fashion industry for five years, The Life of Pitti Peacocks is a tongue-in-cheek look into the wonderful, and at times peculiar eccentricities that makes Pitti Uomo one of the perennial events for #menswear enthusiasts across the world. Through his lens he depicts the Italian menswear show as a wildlife documentary, in which he compares the four-day event to;

"… a peacock parade where the men show off their outfits in all their glory hoping to get snapped by the top photographers.

The short film has the right amount of nuance and humour which offers an alternative take on the event. However in that same instance, it shows the integral influence Pitti Uomo has on the menswear scene.

With a faux-Attenborough narrator on hand, it really does feel like you are watching a BBC nature documentary as he pokes some light-hearted jabs at the on-display 'peacocking'.
